Currently brainstorming for the sharing of ideas across our SFC teams through a webinar or youtube tutorials. This ranges from teaching different types of programs such as SPSS, DT Search, Raiser's Edge, to  even video editing, or social media tutorials (for non-profit clients). In the works of creating a series of SPSS 20.0 and have already downloaded VideoPad to play around with screen recording. This is going to be a fun experience!

  1. Fantastic Idea! One more to add to the list - Basic Excel tutorial for NFP Clients. In my experience, this is a largely misunderstood tool!

  2. Great job of building on each other's ideas, Social Folks! This is a possible way we can transition into paid work for our team members! That is, we can request Social Folks to create webinars/instructional videos to be sold to NFPs. It's a great channel for new grads to market themselves while also providing NPFs with lower cost access to helpful tools. I'm liking this direction!

  3. Hey Megan - The Excel tutorial is a great idea! There's definitely a lack of consistency in Excel knowledge for a lot of companies. And the fact that when we are recruiting a candidate, they always say they are "proficient in Excel, Powerpoint, Word" etc. But how good really are their skills?

Johh Paul - Yes! There's that potential to even bundle tutorials/webinars such that a new hire from a marketing department will get this set of training module. A lot of companies nowadays just learn programs through one employee who is really good at that program, and unfortunately when that one employee leaves, no one else would know how to do it and that knowhow has left the firm. Tutorials would be a great well to keep learning consistent and build within the company.
